Hi, I'm Latifah.
Founder of The Christiana Legacy Foundation.
I created TCLF because I believe every young person deserves someone in their corner – and I’ve seen what’s possible when they do.

Why I Created TCLF
Growing up, I saw first-hand what can happen when people don’t receive the right support at the right time. I’ve watched family members come into contact with support services, begin to make progress, only for that support to end because their allocated sessions had been used or their referral period had come to an end. Those experiences stayed with me.
After university, where I studied policing with a focus on criminal psychology, I began volunteering with a charity supporting young people affected by county lines, mental health challenges, child exploitation and barriers to education, employment and training.
That led me into career supporting vulnerable people across different settings, including women leaving prison and children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs.

Beyond the Referral
We see the person
A referral may arrive as a form, a case number, a history or a list of concerns – but that’s never all we see. We see the person.
Seeing Support From Both Sides
My personal experiences showed me what it feels like when you or someone you love needs help, while my career gave me insight into the challenges professionals face in providing it. TCLF was created to work alongside professionals, families, and communities to help bridge the gaps in support.
A Holistic,Trauma-Informed Approach
Everyone who comes into contact with TCLF has their own story, strengths, and challenges. We look beyond what has happened to understand the person, what matters to them, and what they need to move forward. Support should be built with people, not simply done to them.
Why Early Intervention Matters
Too often, support comes when circumstances have already reached crisis point. At TCLF, we believe in reaching people sooner, preventing crises where possible, and building stronger foundations for the future.
Building the Adults of Tomorrow
When we invest in a young person, the impact reaches far beyond the individual, shaping future parents, colleagues, neighbours, and community members. It takes a village to raise a child, and TCLF wants to be part of that village.
